Easter celebrations in the Open air museum in Riga

baltic tour

The Ethnographic Open Air Museum offers the opportunity to return to ancient Latvian festive traditions and celebrate Easter. It is the time when the day becomes longer than the night – spring sets in.

Easter celebrations at the Ethnographic Open Air Museum will include both Latvian, Christian and modern traditions. Celebration will start on 8 of April with Easter services at the unique Usma Lutheran Church dated back to the 18th century. During the rest of the day and on 9 of April all museum guests are invited to swing, paint, roll and eat eggs, as well as to take a look at the exhibition of hares and egg-laying birds.
