Curonian Spit is an outstanding example of a landscape of sand dunes, a 98 km long, thin, curved sand-dune spit that separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea coast. Tour starts with a walk on the Hill of Witches located in Juodkrante village, 19 km away from Klaipeda, and decorated with numerous wooden sculptures based on Lithuanian legends and folk tales. Further drive to Nida. Nida is the oldest settlement in Neringa. The present Nida was established after people left the Old Nida, a settlement near Grand Dune covered up with drifting sand in the beginning of the 18th century. Tour includes a visit to Thomas Mann’s summer house, neo-gothic church and old ethnographic cemetary.
