Few weeks ago a new unique museum opened its doors in Lithuania near little town of Plunge – the Cold War Museum.

Museum occupies the building of Soviet secret military base that was built in 1960 for nuclear missiles and was functioning till 1978. Visitors of the Cold War Museum will get an opportunity to look down into an authentic silo for a nuclear missile, of some 30 meters depth, and visit secret tunnels of the former military base. There’s also an exposition of photos of the Cold War.

Till March the working hours of the Cold War Museum are from 10:00 to 17:00 on Monday-Thursday and till 16:00 on Friday. Afterwards it will be opened from 10:00 to 18:00 each day. Guided tour can be booked in advance by phone – +370 677 86 574.
